What is Eco Drive technology?
One of Citizen 's great challenges was to develop a technology that would ensure the watch would function consistently , anywhere in the world.
In 1976 , the brand revolutionized watchmaking by inventing the first light-powered analog quartz watch . This innovative technology, now known as Eco-Drive , uses exclusively light as its energy source , eliminating the need for battery replacement.
The Eco-Drive system is able to generate energy from any light source : artificial light, natural light and even dim light , ensuring continuous and sustainable operation of the watch.
